Most fashion and celebrity magazines have celebrated youthful looks. Its pages are proliferated with products for young-looking skin. Photoshop has been used to smoothen lines and even out skin tones and this has permeated into the non-fashion world as we know it. Not every profession though esteems youthful looks all the time. We have encountered time and again young professionals embarking on careers where essentially they are straight away banging bodies with the big boys. Hence, they have told us not to make them look young and inexperienced.
Our first example is a young realtor, Nancy. She has had two years experience in rental properties but changed careers to selling them. In a highly competitive market, most sellers prefer to talk to experienced realtors. It is a tough market out there as of this writing. So our work was cut out for us. It is not just about the technical aspect of photography. She has to stand out in the website of their company. It is about having that engaging, confident look even if she is just starting out. Through proper direction in front of the camera, we were able to draw out a more engaged but still in keeping with her personality and professionalism.
